President Jacob Zuma is in the Republic of Congo to attend the Forbes Africa Forum taking place in Brazzaville today.
Zuma was invited to attend the forum by the President of the Republic of Congo, Denis Sassou-N'Guesso, who met Zuma on his arrival at Maya Maya International Airport.
Zuma used the opportunity to hold talks with Sassou-N'Guesso on issues related to strengthening relations between South Africa and the Republic of Congo, as well as on peace and security in the central African region.
Zuma is being accompanied on his trip by the Minister of International Relations and Co-operation, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane and the Minister of State Security, Siyabonga Cwele.
The Forbes Africa Forum is taking place under the theme: The emergence of an African middle class: conditions, issues and challenges".
The Presidency said in a statement on Monday that the event was bringing together economic and political decision-makers from around the world to take part in panel discussions on Africa's development, investment and infrastructure opportunities, as well as job creation and economic growth.
